Our staff of certified teachers and administrators bring years of classroom practice and knowledge of the latest research to their roles as instructional improvement specialists. About the Adults & Community Department

EDUCATION CONNECTION strives to meet the educational needs of our community members as they become adults. To that end we offer a variety of free GED and mandated classes and fee-for-service enrichment classes to 30 towns in western Connecticut. We also offer housing, transportation and employment services to adults with disabilities, and employment services to qualified seniors.

The early childhood and after school programs that we offer for children from birth to early elementary grades provide high quality educational experiences for all participating children. About the Student Services Department

Working cooperatively with local school districts, we provide a wide range of direct service opportunities for students that enrich their learning experiences. These services include both before and after school programming, a variety of inter-district enrichment opportunities, transportation services, state-of-the-art 21st century skills courses, and regional special education programs.

Special Education

Educational programming in several different alternative formats is available for elementary age children, medically fragile, and middle and high school students with challenging behaviors, as well as for adults of all ages.

ACCESS

(Adolescent and Child Collaborative Education and Stabilization Service) Alternative School - Provides educational and behavioral intervention services. Designed to meet the needs of middle and high school students who have difficulty in a mainstream school setting.

Gertrude Fielding Learning Center

Designed to meet the needs of elementary students requiring counseling and/or therapy services in a therapeutic educational setting.

Special Education Staffing (Itinerant) Program

Our Special Education Staffing (Itinerant) Program provides parent educators, teachers for hearing-impaired students, therapists, temporary administrative services, and PPT Services. (Please refer to the page on School Services for further information).
