TLC Autism Program

TLC (Teach, Learn, Communicate) Autism Program provides comprehensive early intervention services and assessment to children with characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in 36 towns. Individualized services are directed at sharing strategies with families which will enhance their child’s development and can be incorporated into the child’s natural daily routines and activities. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) oversees a staff comprised of early interventionists that are licensed, certified, or trained in various specialties including early childhood and special education; speech, physical, and occupational therapies; autism and other related disabilities.

Foster Care Clinic of Northwestern Connecticut

A regional collaborative program with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and funded through the Connecticut Department of Children and Families to provide medical and behavioral health screenings for children placed into foster care for the first time.

Western Connecticut State University Child Care Center 

An accredited National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) program, providing high quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for 32 children ages three to five. Two-thirds of the enrollment is comprised of children of university staff and students, with one-third of children from the surrounding community.

S.E.E.D.

(Services for Early Education and Development) - Early intervention program providing services to children ages birth to three with developmental delays or disabilities in 28 towns. Evaluation and services are delivered to children and families in their natural environment, with the goal of supporting parents as their children grow and develop. Staff is comprised of early interventionists that are licensed, certified, or trained in various specialties including early childhood and special education; speech, physical, and occupational therapies; autism and other related disabilities.

 

EDUCATION CONNECTION Center for Pediatric Therapy

The Center for Pediatric Therapy Services is designed to provide convenient, high quality occupational, physical and speech-language therapy services to children from birth to age 21 at an affordable cost. The Center for Pediatric Therapy, a partnership with Brooker Memorial, provides a sliding fee structure and accepts HUSKY and private insurance. It is conveniently located in the Brooker Memorial facility at 157 Litchfield Street in Torrington.
